Write a Blog for MoneyThe blog is the internet phenomenon - perhaps the marketing phenomenon - of the 21st century; a free for all online journal where anyone can post their daily thoughts, blogs are a must have accessory for any business. But have you thought about how you could make money with your own blog?
Blogs can be about anything - they can talk about you, your daily life, about a sport or product you love, about celebrity gossip, world news - anything; but the best thing about blogging is that is can - really - make you money.
The basic premise behind making money from a blog is in advertising; we are not talking about advertising a product you provide, but about other people's products. You have heard of Google Adsense? This is another phenomenon that is taking the world by storm.
Subscribing your blog to Adsense means that when you write an article that is relevant to a certain product, service or other advertised theme the Adsense people can place an ad beside your blog entry. They do so by working out the relevance of your article or blog entry of the product they are advertising; if your blog generates sales, you make money. That is, of course, a generalised view, but it is worth researching Adsense - and other similar schemes - for more information.
Affiliate programs are also excellent ways of making money; the idea of affiliate sales is that you carry a link to a certain site on your blog, and if referrals go through via your site that results in a sale you take a percentage. Again, this is a basic explanation, but it gives a good idea of what it's about.
The purpose of your blog could be one of many things, but if your intention is to make money by the above means - or even by carrying direct adverts or links - you need to make sure people read your blog.
Choose an interesting subject, one that is current and of the minute; write gossip about a popular sport; review films or music, or even books, or talk of current affairs. Furthermore, make your blog amusing and informative, and keep it refreshed with new material regularly. Use social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter to publicise your blog, and comment on other blog's entries that are relevant to yours.
This way you get your blog known and you increase the likelihood that you will be able to make money from the method you choose to pursue. Everyone who is anyone has a blog - don't miss out!
